The former president of the United States briefly touched upon the phenomenon and the possibilities of alien life.
If there’s one group of people who should know more than most about the US government’s investigations into the UFO phenomenon it’s those who once made the White House their home.
Several former presidents have commented on the topic over the years and now Bill Clinton, who sat in office between 1993 and 2001, has become the latest to offer his views.
During an appearance on The Late Late Show with James Corden on Wednesday, he suggested (in tongue-in-cheek fashion) that he had looked into the subject while he was president.
“We made every attempt to find out about Roswell and we also sent people to Area 51 to make sure there were no aliens,” he said.
When Cordon asked him who he had sent, Clinton quipped – “Oh, if I told you that…”
Also during the interview, Clinton recalled paying a visit to a telescope in Hawaii where he spoke to an international team of researchers who had been working there.
He said that he had asked them about the likelihood of there being alien life in the universe, to which the scientists suggested that there was an 85-95% chance of this being true.
