A curious marsupial was spotted nonchalantly exploring a quiet road in High Ridge, Missouri this week.
We’ve covered a lot of cases of exotic big cats being sighted in countries in which they don’t belong over the years, but this most recent incident concerned an animal that, while a lot less dangerous, happened to be even further away from its country of origin.
Jefferson County Services Director Eric Larson confirmed earlier this week that a kangaroo had been sighted by several locals hopping around on a stretch of road in High Ridge, Missouri.
Seemingly unconcerned by its surroundings, the animal was filmed exploring the roadside as onlookers were left scratching their heads.
It wasn’t long before local news outlets began picking up the story.
As it turned out, the inquisitive marsupial – whose name was Rueben – had actually escaped from the nearby S and S Farms Exotic Petting Zoo and had gone on the run.
Fortunately, it didn’t take long for zoo staff to track him down and return him to his enclosure.
