Remember that webcam photo taken on March 23 that had us all running around like excited lunatics because it was the first photo of the old girl this year? Well, it has now been rescinded: a pair of paddle-boarders have taken credit for the appearance on the 24 hour CCTV at the loch. So now there’s talk of no longer permitting images from the webcam to be submitted as evidence. But a week later, on March 30, an actual in-person sighting was reported. Nessie will not let an unflattering photo get her down. Speaking of photos, some of you may remember “The Most Amazing Pictures Ever Seen” taken in November of 1972 by Frank Searle. Images depicted a multi-humped creature evidently feeding at the surface of the dark waters. Glasgow Boy goes forensic detective with these photos to help us understand their evolution from exciting evidence of the Loch Ness Monster to possible hoax. Regardless of popular opinion, however, Searle most likely saw something swimming around that day. (CM)
