NASA officials are reportedly ramping up preparations for the agency’s investigation into the UFO phenomenon.

Back in June, NASA announced that it would be launching a nine-month study which will focus on analyzing existing astronomical data for anomalies that cannot be scientifically explained.

While we haven’t heard much about this since, officials have this week moved to reassure interested parties that the investigation will be going ahead this autumn as planned.

It will be headed up by astrophysicist David Spergel and will cost around $100,000.

At a recent meeting which discussed various Science Mission Directorate (SMD) projects, officials confirmed that NASA was “going full force” on preparations for the UFO study.

“This is really important to us, and we’re placing a high priority on it,” said Daniel Evans, the SMD’s assistant deputy associate administrator for research.

The study panel will be made up of between 15 and 17 people who will be “some of the world’s leading scientists, data practitioners, artificial intelligence practitioners, aerospace safety experts, all with a specific charge, which is to tell us how to apply the full focus of science and data to UAP (Unidentified Arial Phenomena).”
