The recent revival of the classic real-life mystery series is set to return once again for a third season next week.
The original run of ‘Unsolved Mysteries’ spanned a whole 14 seasons between 1987 and 2010 and is best remembered for its host Robert Stack (who sadly died in 2003) as well as its re-enactments of various mysteries, unexplained phenomena and unsolved criminal cases.
While the recent Netflix revival mostly did away with the re-enactments, its eerie and suspenseful exploration of twelve mysterious cases across two volumes proved a major hit with viewers, ranking number one in the US on the streaming service mere hours after its debut back in July 2020.
Now, due to high demand, the show is back for a third run – this time with nine new episodes.
“I think the goal is always to see if we can solve one of these mysteries,” co-creator Terry Meurer told Comicbook.com. “So I guess, if somebody’s listening and has a clue, that’s always number one.”
Based on the episode list, the new season will include at least one episode about ghosts as well as multiple episodes about mysterious deaths and disappearances.
The season will begin with three episodes on October 18th, then another three will drop on October 25th before a final three to finish things off on November 1st.
“Are you ready to solve a mystery?” the synopsis states. “The global phenomenon returns with nine new mysteries in Volume 3. Join the search and perhaps you may be able to help solve a mystery.”
