Reflections on “trust” in the UFO realm begin with Billy Cox’ noting of problems within the government sectors and Steven Greer’s “happy-happy” alien alternative business. Miguel (“Red Pill Junkie”) Romero relays something on a bevy of ufology notables and wacky ideas, centered upon a recent passing; see Liars & Leeriness: Controversial UFO Figure John Lear Dies (Included Excerpt of Saucers, Spooks & Kooks by Gorightly). Additionally, on the Federal Government, John Greenewald offers a FOIA-liberated Navy CHINFO Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAPs) Briefing Card, 24 July 2020. The document provides background to the what the DOD wants us to know (and what not to know) about UFOs (excuse; “UAPs”). Jack Brewer neatly sums it up in Show People, Don’t Tell People. Jack’s examples seem heavy on the “UFO believer” side; there are instances where positions in more “traditional” fields of inquiry demonstrate institutionalized rejection of new data without examination. In the end, “trust no one” implicitly may be the best position–but balance and compare information intake, examining rationales and data sources and quality as best one can. (WM)
