In this episode of Ghosts in the Machine, we revisit the Columbus Poltergeist. This case briefly caught the world’s attention when (then) 14-year-old Tina Resch was believed to be at the center of poltergeist activity. Glassware, eggs, and candlesticks were thrown about by an alleged unseen ‘Force’. A famous photograph alleges to have captured a telephone receiver mid-air, apparently launched by itself across Tina’s lap. In this episode, we’re going to look at a few of the activities the Poltergeist was blamed for, such as the famous phone photograph, a tissue box that ‘stuck the landing,’ and even how scotch-tape (placed to hold down light switches) could ‘disappear’ into thin air. You’ll also get to meet some CFI employees, who volunteered for some of my experiments.
