Unidentified flying objects of various shapes and sizes were reported over parts of England during 2022, new data has revealed.
According to the research, which was based on data obtained from local news archives as well as Freedom of Information Act requests, the Midlands made a surprisingly strong showing in the tables with 42 reported sightings, but the top spots were held by the South-East, the North-West and the South-West which reported 75, 68 and 60 sightings respectively during the same period.
In addition to the number of reports, the research also highlighted the types of UFOs that witnesses had seen.
“According to the data for 2022, the most commonly reported UFO was ‘star-like’, as described in 126 reports,” BonusInsider, which conducted the research, wrote in the report.
“Other common shapes were ‘orb’ (80 reports), ‘circular’ (55 reports), ‘cylinder’ (52 reports), ‘sphere’ (42 reports), and ‘triangle’ (35 reports).”
Surprisingly, traditional saucer-shaped objects were only spotted in 32 of the reports.
Exactly what any of these objects were, however, continues to remain a mystery.
