The author of Triangular UFOs: An Estimate of the Situation has a new presentation about those geometric flying puzzles. Center for UFO Studies Board Member David Marler’s recent acquisition of the CUFOS case files has added scores of new, “older” triangles sightings to his datasets. They confirm the patterns and characteristics he noted of these UFOs in his 2013 book. The perception that the “takeoff” of equilateral, isosceles, boomerang, and other triangular-shaped stuff only happened in the late 1970s is flatly wrong. Dave presents many fascinating much-earlier examples, displaying contemporaneous reports. These exemplify his primary or secondary “triangle” characteristics including form, size, illumination, noise, and flight. Dave offers an informed and passionate argument for considering historical material in serious UFO/UAP studies going forward. Another researcher applying rigorous principles to his work is the subject of a Paracast Rich Hoffman Interview by Gene Steinberg and Curt Collins. Rich discusses the mission of the Scientific Coalition for UAP Studies as well as its (and his own) ufological beginnings. He also mentions collaborations with other scientifically-oriented UFO groups, and emphasizes rational approaches to specific cases, including “Roswell.” (WM)
